How Shadevie Began
Shadevie started with a simple observation: lamp shades are often the last thing people think about when decorating a room, yet they're one of the details that quietly shapes how a space actually feels. A dim, mismatched shade can make an entire room feel unfinished. A well-chosen one can pull everything else together.
Our founder spent years working in interior spaces — helping friends and family redo rooms, mixing furniture, and constantly running into the same problem: finding a lamp shade that felt right, fit properly, and didn't cost a small fortune was harder than it should have been. Big box stores offered limited styles. Specialty shops were often out of reach for everyday budgets. That gap is where the idea for Shadevie took shape.
We founded Shadevie as a small team who genuinely cares about home decor — not as a side project, but as something we wanted to build carefully, one shade at a time.
Why Lamp Shades
It might seem like an unusual thing to build a brand around, but that's exactly why we chose it. Lamp shades don't get much attention in the design world, yet they touch every room they're in. We wanted to focus on something specific, something we could actually get right, instead of trying to be everything to everyone.
Getting here wasn't without its share of setbacks. Early on, we tested shapes and materials that didn't hold up, worked with suppliers who didn't share our attention to detail, and spent a long time figuring out how to balance style with practicality — shades that look good but are also easy to install and replace. Every misstep taught us something we carried into the next version of the product.
What We Believe
We believe home decor shouldn't feel complicated or out of reach. A lamp shade is a small change, but it's an easy way to refresh a room without a full renovation. That's the idea behind everything we make — practical pieces that fit real homes, real budgets, and real routines.
We're not trying to reinvent lighting. We're just trying to make one part of it — the part people usually overlook — a little easier to get right.
